Merry Christmas Blocks

And together:

Yesterday I finally finished my first set of Merry Christmas blocks! They are so fun!! I have a few more sets I am going to do (ones with just all one font and same-sized blocks, etc.). So there will be more to come!

One of My Favorite Things.... Bunco!

My friend Ashley and I hosted bunco for the month of November. I really had a good time planning for the event and Ashley was great to work with. Bunco is one of those things that helps me get out of my box and be social. That is what I love most about it, not to mention the fun little things that people bring! P.S.- Ashley made the pumpkin bars pictured and they are the most delicious things ever!

Crazy Storm

Last week we had a crazy storm. I think the highest wind gust out by the airport was 85mph. We woke up about 1am because the power went out. The wind was blowing so hard and it was hailing like crazy. It wasn't one of those really quick storms either. It lasted for at least a few hours or so and then let up a bit. I do have to admit I was a little spooked but we made it through. The picture about is our back porch. Our swing is tipped over and the umbrella, table and chairs were thrown right into it.

Things enjoyed

The fall colors last week were just beaming all around the U of I campus and outside my office window.

Brandon played in a Hockey game last week with some friends and I got to watch him play. I also got to hang out with this cute little girl quite a bit. Isn't she adorable?

Yesterday I spent most of the day in Ceour d'Alene, ID with some girlfriends. We all made watch bands. I had such a great time! Not to mention the Olive Garden we ate afterwards...

Last but not least, the definitely highlight of my week this week was getting some of my favorite flowers from my dear husband. These lilies and roses are so beautiful! I am definitely in love.

More from Walla Walla

My mom took Brandon and I out to eat lunch at a little sandwich shop in Walla Walla when we first got into town last Friday and that was really fun.

Then, I took my two little sisters (they are growing up fast) trick or treating at our church's trunk or treat event on Friday night.

Saturday morning we hit it making LOTS of applesauce!

Here's papa running the show for awhile! Me and my older siblings share such fond memories of making applesauce with my father.

This is my little sister Rachel at the mixing station.

And here's the apple cutting crew inside- me and my brother Blake. I had such an enjoyable time being inside and chatting with Blake. He is a teenager and not usually around much when we come to visit. So it was really fun just to be with him for awhile.

And here is the lady who makes EVERYTHING happen in her house. She is amazing. She has taught me a lot about canning this year and as a result, I am not very much enjoying it and hope to be able to do it all on my own, especially when I have my own family to share it with.

Some of the finished product... yum!

Last but not least, I do have to mention the lovely homemade doughnuts my mom and I made for the family on Saturday after applesauce was all done. They were heavenly.

Brandon vs. Sarah taking photos

Here's what happens when Brandon takes photos (this guy is never serious, can you tell):

We carved pumpkins with my three youngest siblings while we were in Walla Walla last weekend. I told Brandon to get some pictures of the kids when they were done. The pictures above were what he took and here is the one I took:

A nice little photo (no silly faces).

Mani/Pedi with My Co-worker

Last Thursday was my co-worker's birthday and we went out for manicures and pedicures. It was so fun! The vietnamese people working there kept calling Jenny my mom. So we got a good laugh out of that. I feel so lucky to have such a fun person to work with every day. Jenny makes me feel youthful and happy. She has always got a listening ear and good advice. I will miss her when we leave this place in a few years!
