Fun Weekend!

Brandon came to Moscow this last weekend (1 week down, 4 to go)! We played a lot and it went by way too fast. We ended the weekend with some fishing at Spring Valley. There were lots of fish and great friends to accompany the adventure. Plus we cannot forget that the sunshine actually came out for part of the afternoon too!!

We went into the weekend with pretty much no plans and I think after one evening of no plans and just hanging out, Brandon started to go stir crazy. So Saturday we went out and played some frisbee golf. I am definitely not very good but it was a good time.

Saturday night we hit the bowling alley with some good friends of ours. We both were pleasantly surprised as Brandon got four strikes in a row and I won the second game (although everyone's scores on the second game were low)!!

Wicked!!!

Last night I went with a couple of my good friends to Spokane, WA to see Wicked. We started off the night with a visit to Olive Garden (yum).

This is kind of random picture. It is a big slide that I never knew existed! Pretty cool, huh?

So crazy story behind this picture. We were walking to the INB Performing Arts Center and we asked a girl to take our picture. After the girl took the picture and was getting ready to walk away, she informed us that she was one of the main characters!!!!! I can't believe we didn't ask for her picture with us after that. I think it was because she seemed in a little bit in a hurry, but still. What were we thinking?!?! The show was phenominal by the way. I would highly recommend seeing it.

Thanks Ashley's for making the trip!!

Freedom Heart

Finished my freedom heart and hung it on my door today. I really love how it turned out!

One Year Older and Hopefully Wiser Too...

This is going to be really hard for me to post about right now because my best friend left for Tri-Cities, WA just last Sunday. He is doing an internship for the city of Kennewick, WA. I am finishing out my job through the end of June. So it will be a good five weeks until I can move to be closer to him. Thankfully I have some good friends that have taken me in and I feel right at home (which makes this temporary separation lots easier). However, I still miss this guy like crazy and just seeing pictures of him makes me a little teary-eyed.

He took me out to one of my favorite places near Moscow, ID and that is, Spring Valley. He made a Sunday dinner and brought it out to the lake. Then, he surprised me and pulled a romantic little trick (like he usually does) and lit a candle for me to blow out. He also got me a few gifts that I am super excited about. They haven't come yet so I will have to blog about them later.

I think my face looks really weird in this picture but I love Brandon's little pucker face.

It was hard to take pictures, since it was completely clouded over and we were losing light by the second but still fun. I can't wait until it gets warmer... hopefully it will!! We are still in 50 degree weather most days and I am just about to go crazy.

The Day I Met the Best Waiter in the World

So Brandon and I went to see Beauty and the Beast in Lewiston, ID last weekend. We went to Red Lobster before that, since they are having the festival of shrimp right now. The food was incredible but even more incredible was the gentleman that waited on us! I have never in my life met a better waiter. I couldn't get over how fast he got us in and out and how good of service he gave us. We were in and out of that place within a period of 20-30 min. max! I couldn't believe it. I am usually the kind of person that thinks waiters do not deserve tips but that night, I could have handed that man a $10 or $20 bill for a tip and felt that he deserved (don't worry, Brandon did the tipping so we wouldn't go home broke). Anyhow, I analyzed his waiting and I will spare you all the details but if you ever go to Red Lobster in Lewiston, ask for Cody.

Birthday Party

Some of my friends threw me a cute little birthday party Sunday night and it was really fun. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by fun friends in this area! Oh, and I should mention that the cake my friend Ashley made was divine!!

Frame Project

So these are awful pictures (dark) of the frames but I promise they are super cute! I picked them up at a yard sale for super cheap, spray painted them white, went and got some glass cut for them and some mats. I want to hang them with ribbon but will do that at our next place. Right now they are hanging on the wall to the right as you walk up our set of stairs.

Silver Platter

Another fun yard sale find, to which I added the vinyl. The platter is pretty reflexive and the picture has a pretty big shadow but it will have to do for now.

Monogram

Just added the "R" (monogram) for Ritchie to this pot. Got the pot at a yard sale awhile back. I think the pot is really cute but I am not super in love with the font of the "R." If I ever get around to downloading new fonts for my Sure Cuts A Lot program, then maybe I will change it.

Menu Whiteboard

So there are many flaws with this little menu and the picture is taken at a bad angle but it is done and on my fridge and even though I am a perfectionist, I am not going to re-do it!

Christ Shadow Box

This picture does not do justice to this quick and easy project. I put a picture of Christ (from a Simon Dewey calendar) in a shadow box and then added the vinyl. I love it.

Coloring Bag

My friend Tessa helped me make a coloring bag awhile back. I LOVE how it turned out and have the fabric to make three more bags. I will have to post them all when I finish. My favorite part are the individual crayon slots. I think they are so fun.

I learned how to free hand quilt my fabric. That is a new thing for me. It was scary but also fun. Oh, and there is a coloring book inside the bag!

Glass Dice

I picked up these glass dice at an antique store in Kendrick, ID last month and put some vinyl dots on them to make them into glass dice. I am still not sure how I feel about them. They are a little hard to read but I still love the fact that they are glass.

Forever Sign

I was cleaning out or wedding cards the other day and noticed this quote on one of the cards, "When you can no longer imagine an unshared tomorrow, you have discovered the meaning of forever." I thought it was beautiful. So I made a vinyl sign out of it.

Beaded Watch Bands

So I promised I would try to get caught up with posting all of the fun things I have been making. I went to a jewelry party a month or so ago and had so much fun putting together my first black and white beaded watch band (above), that I just had to make three more:

My Surgery

On the way to Palouse Surgery Center...

In the waiting room... Don't I look so excited?

Now it's time for me to go to the back and get ready...

Here I am... ready to get poked a million times and then put to sleep. They tried to get my IV into both arms and after no success whatsoever, they let me breathe some sleepy drugs and put me to sleep. I am glad they did because they had to try both hands and my wrist while I was asleep before they could get it in. Youch!

I am now home and recovering. Recovery will be a bit longer than my last laproscopic surgery because the doctor was more agressive this time. I am looking forward to getting back up and running in a week or so. I am pretty sore but I'm hanging in there. Thanks for keeping us in your prayers!

Project for my Mom

Not the greatest picture of the project that I made for my Mom this Mother's Day but that's ok. I haven't decided yet but I may tie some ribbons on the top...

Furniture project is complete!

Last weekend we put the final touches on the bookshelf. Re-doing our hutch, bookshelf and end table was much more work than I thought it would be and took a lot more time than I thought it would. I think it would have been faster had I had an entire day or two straight to devote to it. Instead, I worked on them an hour here, an hour there, etc. I am happy with how they turned out. I was getting so sick of the dark black they were before.

Seriously Brandon, Seriously?!

I was really looking forward to posting this picture of Brandon and I in front of the Columbia River Temple (until now). I had my mom take it for us last Friday night. The main reason I wanted the picture was because I actually had my hair done and make-up on that night. I looked half-way decent for once!!! So what does Brandon do to wreck this PERFECT picture??? He closes his eyes! I couldn't believe it!!! Seriously? Seriously?! I guess I will get over it because my shirt is a size too big anyway. So it really wasn't meant to be a perfect picture anyway, right?

And here are my cute parents. They are awesome and I love going to the temple with them.

Just Can't Get Enough...

...of visiting my family!!! I am really looking forward to seeing these guys more this summer.

These girls just crack me up and I just can't get enough of it. They wanted to wait for Brandon and I to come last weekend to do their Easter egg hunt.

So we start filling eggs and my sister Rachel, who is very smart, dumps out a small portion of the candy from each bag into bowls. So I am thinking that is all of the candy because she kind of hid all of the bags. I start filling eggs and since I see that we don't have that much candy, I just put one thing in each egg to make sure we have enough eggs. I think we are almost done and then she pulls the bags that are still 3/4 of the way full out! Needless to say, we had PLENTY of candy.

Crystal got ahold of the camera and kind of went crazy. She took lots of pictures of the eggs, candy and our kite flying adventures!

Crazy lady. =)

Stew turned out to be kite pro. He really got the hang of it and was even begging us to take him to Wal-Mart to get more kites afterward!

One of the kites got stuck in a fruit tree. Crystal tried to get it down but I eventually had to get up there to pull it out. I forgot how much fun climbing trees is. I would post a picture of me up in the tree (as Crystal seemed to be taking lots of pictures while I was up there) but when I reviewed them let's just say they all were at one angle and were great bum shots. So let's try this one instead...

We were only in Walla Walla for a day or so but we got to see Blake play some tennis and...

... prepare him for his prom date Saturday night. My brothers are just growing up so fast! Too fast!!
