Two Happy Years!!!

So of course this is the time of year when EVERYONE I know has their anniversary. I just realized why the other day... this is about when BYU finishes so everyone gets married right after the semester of course. Our anniversary was Sunday, April 26th. Brandon was sick most of the morning. In fact, he even left church early because he was feeling so bad. So he slept half the day and the other half we just kind of hung out. Better luck next year, right?

Here is the first (intentional) picture of us together... this is the summer of 2006 when we both sold pest control in the Utah valley. We hit it off the first night we met and are still surprised that it all worked out.

I will save you the long story of Brandon's proposal.. but I will share with you a few sidenotes. I did not eat chocolate (in any form... chocolate chips, hot chocolate, white chocolate, etc.) for four years - until Brandon proposed to me. I always said I would not break my goal of not eating chocolate until I was engaged and I started the goal when I was 16 and never ever ever broke it until then. So, my creative husband decided to (as part of the proposal) blindfold me and put this lovely chocolate candy bar/rose bouquet in my lap and a piece of chocolate in my mouth right before he proposed to make everything official.

I don't know why I added this picture of my brothers... this is certainly not the best picture of us all but I just love these guys to death!! I would seriously have it no other way... I love having LOTS of brothers. They are so fun!

And here we are... this is not a professional picture by the way... some of our professional ones are on the side bar of my blog.

And here we are coming out of the Bountiful, UT temple. My little brother Doug is the one peering from the white pillar.

So Brandon is always so very creative and he always writes me these amazing poems (his bachelors degree is in English by the way). So I rarely attempt to make anything creative for him because he always shows me up and it is VERY apparent that he is way better than I am at these kinds of things. Saturday he put this sign up on our office door. I thought it was pretty cute. He would not let me into the office and I found out why the next morning when I found this beautiful little collage in our bathroom...

Ok.. so the vinyl on it cracked me up! I bought a bunch of vinyl from a lady who is moving a week or so ago and he totally stole it from my stash!!! I am glad he did though.. and the middle drawing is a picture of us that I drew during Stake Conference a few weeks ago (I have no idea how he got it or why he framed it) but I love it nonetheless because he made it and I love everything he makes. He was so proud of the frame and the vinyl (one of our friends put it on for him). I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband. He spoils me in many ways. Sometime -another day- I will have to share a fuller story of why I truly consider him my angel.

Fun Date Night

Last Saturday night I was pretty determined to go on a date with my husband since this is the week before his finals start and let me tell you, usually the last four weeks of a semester for law school are not very fun. I NEVER see him. So, I like to take advantage of the weekends and every excuse I can get to be with him. So our evening started with going out to see the bears at the WSU site. They are sooo cute. I took the camera and I was even all dressed up and excited about taking pictures when I realized that our memory card had been taken out of the camera (by my husband) for a project someone (not me!) was working on. So, no pictures of the bears and my cute outfit afterall. It was very fun though and the little cubs are just so cute. The ones we saw were about a month old it looked like. After the bears, we went to Smoky Mountain Pizza here in Moscow. I was not too excited about it as I had eaten a piece of pizza for lunch earlier, but I knew that he wanted to go. While we were there, they messed up our order so we waited twice as long for our food. Good thing there was a large TV with the Jazz basketball game on it! After dinner and a small dosage of basket robins ice cream, we were driving home and I asked Brandon what he wanted to do the rest of the night.... he said he wanted to watch the rest of the Jazz game (go figure!... such a guy thing to do on a weekend). I think he could tell I was a little dissapointed because he quickly added "and we could go buy some snacks for each other at the grocery store to eat during the game." I was already feeling almost sick to my stomach from the pizza and ice cream (crap food as I call it) so I told him not to get me anything to unhealthy. Below you will see what happened. Oh well... I have to admit, I did REALLY enjoy those barnums animal crackers. They are my favorite!!!
These are the healthy snacks I purchased for Brandon (above).

And this is the yummy crap food Brandon purchased for me.

We're Bringin' Out the Bikes

Sunday was our first bike ride together this spring and it was wonderful! Aside from the fact that my road bike is VERY old, I had an enjoyable time. We rode to the tennis courts next to the building I work at and played some tennis. It felt great to get outdoors and back into the sports mode. We both really love the outdoors and can't wait to get out and play more this summer!

What A Beautiful Day!

Last weekend Brandon and I drove down to Lewiston, ID to pick something up. We randomly decided to stop at one of the lookouts just before you descend into the valley. It was so nice out and even though we were certainly not dressed up or looking nice, we just had to take some pictures. When I was going to school at BYU in Provo, UT, one of my favorite things was hiking. I always took pictures of the views from the top of mountains The view of a valley from up above is actually more beautiful to me than the mountains themselves, weird huh?!

Our Newest Addition

Here she is... our newest addition. I found this beauty at a yard sale this last weekend and after I sold our old one (made of plexwood) it only cost me $10. So it was a pretty good deal for as big of an upgrade as it was. There are no bid dings or anything in it and let me tell you I am just very in love with it. I think it is beautiful and I especially love the huge mirror on the top. It matches our headboard and footboard lots better than the black dresser we had.

Brandon has been pretty cute about it. I could tell he was not very excited about it when I first brought it home because it was so large. Since then it has definitely grown on him. He did make a comment to me the other day that was funny though. He said he couldn't believe we had just gotten rid of our first two dressers just in this last week. The first dresser we ever had was some plastic storage boxes on wheels. We used them to store other things for awhile after using them as dressers but now we don't have anything else to use them for so I gave them away last week. So if you combine the plastic drawers with the dresser we had before this new one, you get our first two dressers. I think this new one will last us a long time!

Late Nights

So Brandon and I have had quite a few "late nights" lately- last week especially. I took Brandon to Wal-Mart (I think it was last Thursday) and sort of convinced him to let me buy a nice cabinet and shelves set to go over our toilet in the bathroom. I just have too much stuff for our very very little bathroom counter to handle. So being the crazy "get things done now" person that I am sometimes, yes, I did make Brandon stay up late with me to put the darn thing together. How sweet of him (especially since he did not really want the thing in the first place). I think he is the best husband ever!

BYU Baseball

On Monday night, we decided to hit up the BYU vs. WSU baseball game. I mean, who couldn't... it's BYU!!!! If my family would have been there, they would have totally been BYU decked out! We had a real fun time together and it was such a nice evening out. I can't wait for summer when we can do stuff like this all of the time. It felt so good to get out again!

Now what does he think he is doing on the phone?!... so typical of him! When we were dating, he was always on the phone. For awhile it drove me nuts. Then I just realized he had lots of friends and since that is a good thing, I was ok with it.

We never really got a good shot taken of your rings when we were married. I think it was because the photographer had a hard time catching my ring at the right angle.. that is the only reason I can think of because every time I try to do it, I cannot find a good angle for my ring. It ALWAYS comes out blurry. Any ideas?

The last two pictures I am so upset about. I kept telling Brandon that we were going to take a nice picture of us and he thought he was so funny because he would make a face right before I snapped it and then I would look at it and go, "Hey!" He is such a tease sometimes!

Funny Story

So the other day Brandon and I were at a yard sale and we picked up this lovely looking plant. I was super excited about it so I went to Wal-Mart that night and picked up a beautiful pot for it and some potting soil. I knew exactly where I wanted it in our living room. So I called Brandon on my way home and told him what I purchased and that I was on my way home. He laughed and told me the plant was fake. I would NOT believe him because I swore it was real. To my dismay, when I got home, I did learn the horrible truth.... it really is fake!! What a ripoff! I was sooo mad. So I took it to work instead. The funniest thing though was my trip back to Wal-Mart to return my potting soil and pot where I had to explain to the Wal-Mart what had happened. The associate had a pretty good laugh as you can imagine. I sware I am not blonde!

Our New Table

We are pretty excited about our new table. It is a bar table with beautifully padded chairs. It even came with a leaf that is not in it right now. It is a solid table and probably worth a lot more than we paid for it. We got it off of CraigsList and I am so proud of myself for calling on it and executing my first CraigsList purchase! The other good news is that we sold our old table tonight. It only took a few hours on CraigsList for it to go. What a relief!!!

Shish-ka-bobs and Ice Cream Sandwiches

I seriously have the best husband ever. Monday I came home a little distraught from work. My husband had dinner ready. He even had some dessert in the freezer too! There was one problem with this dessert however. You have to know that I am absolutely addicted to ice cream sandwiches. I can eat up to three in an evening and so it takes major control from me when there is a box in our freezer. I usually end up eating about two a day anyway with a tummy ache resulting each night. Oh well... I think it is still worth it for how good they taste! And I don't buy them often for my own safety.

A Beautiful Bouquet

I love this bouquet of flowers. My boss (a lady) at work gave them to me last week and they are still holdin' out. Lillies and daisies are my favorite flowers so I just love this arrangement!

Here She Is...

These are some real pictures of our new beauty.
