Brandon's Giant Fish

A few weeks ago, Brandon went with one of our friend's dad fishing. They fished most of the day and did not catch anything. So on Friday night of this week we were playing games with these friends of our ours and their dad called and wanted to know if Brandon would want to go fishing with him again. This guy that takes Brandon has a boat and so this is not like side of the lake small fishing. Brandon LOVES to do crazy things and I am so glad that yesterday he brought home the biggest fish he has ever caught. Way to go Brandon!
*Side Note: I know the second picture is kind of bloody but I just love the expression on Brandon's face. He is my cutie!

Nothin' Says Lovin' Like Fresh From the Oven

The other day when I got home from work, my husband surprised me with some homemade pizza. Doesn't it look just delicious? I was so exhausted from the day and so relieved to not have to worry about making dinner. Thanks love!

Some Slammin' Girl Time

This last weekend we made a quick trip to Walla Walla to visit my family. One of the highlights for me was definitely hanging out with these cute girls. They are my two littlest sisters and I just love them!
Crystal said that the paint smell kind of made her feel sick. I think she enjoyed the painting though.

We put hot curlers in Rachel's hair both days we were there and that was really fun. It kind of brought back memories from when I was younger and used hot curlers every day.

Here's Rachel's vinyl project. She was very insistent on the yellow. I think she did a good job.

Here's Crystal's projects. I LOVE the pink and red stackers!!

Silly girl! She is so darn cute!

My Blonde Moment

So last night I was getting ready to bake a chocolate cake. I put the mix from the box in the bowl (yes, I know I didn't make it from scratch- I am a slacker) and the oil, eggs, and water in as well. Then the box says to mix on low speed for one minute. So I get my beaters out and look at the clock on the microwave. It says 1:34. So I start the mixer and after a bit I figured that I must have started just as the 1:34 turned to 1:34 because the clock didn't turn to 1:35 for a little while. So I knew that I would be good if i just kept mixing until the clock turned to 1:35. So I am standing there (spacing off of course) and mixing (for like five minutes) and I look at the clock and it is still at 1:34 and I am thinking to myself, 'Wow! This is the longest minute I have ever lived!" Then after a few more minutes I totally realize that that is NOT the time (duh! It was like 7:00 in the evening!) and that someone had set the timer and stopped it at 1:34. Wow. I am real smart! And let's just say, my batter was very well mixed!

My Goodies

So about every two years I get new running shoes. However, they are not just any old running shoe. I seriously think that the labreth model from aasics was made for my foot. When I ran my marathon in 2006 I actually started looking for a good (more expensive though) shoe. I found these and let me tell you they are not cheap but totally worth it. They really do last me two years. And it is amazing putting the new pair on how much I realize that I was due for a new pair. I now have arch support, cushioning, and traction. They are a beauty!

A Good Skill to Learn

I first learned how to knit back in November of last year (thanks to my friend Michelle who so willingly taught me). I enjoy it. However, I am not one to just sit around usually so it took me quite some time to finish my first scarf. I think I finished it like 2 weeks or so ago. I never realized how much time knitting actually takes. I am sure once I am actually good at it that I will increase my speed and it will not take so long. Until then, I think I will take a break from the knitting and work on bigger and better things.

Valentine's Crafts.. Finally!

So I started these crafts weeks ago and just finished them tonight! I could not get super good pictures because of the poor lighting in the room, but I am excited they are done. The only thing I may have to redo is the purple block. I think it is a little too dark. Other than that, I am happy with what I have done.
