A Visit from Kyle & Shanie

My brother Kyle and his wife Shanie came to visit us for an evening earlier this week and we had a little FHE together.  I made everyone participate in making rice crispy treat Christmas trees, since Brandon and I really have not done anything festive for Christmas this year.  How do you like our packed up tubs in the background?  Yup, that is how we are living right now.  I think I might go crazy if we don't hear anything about the paperwork for our house by next week!

Blake's Special Day

Last weekend we had the opportunity to go through the temple with my brother Blake.  It was a special event and one that I really wanted to be at.  So I was so very grateful to be able to make it through the experience.  The three of the oldest brothers (Blake, Tom, and Kyle) were all able to attend.  I am so grateful for family.

Doug's Chamber Singers Gift Concert

We went to Walla Walla earlier this week to watch my brother Doug in his Chamber Singers gift concert at the Walla Walla High School.  It is a concert that I have fond memories of participating in during my high school years.  So it was fun to attend to watch my brother perform and to see my High School choir teacher there.

House Update

Well, our house is done and just sitting on the street, all beautiful and ready for us to move into it.  BUT, our paperwork is not processed yet!  We are waiting for the government to process our loan.  Who knows how long it will take.  We hope not much longer!  We have been waiting over two weeks past our initial move-in date now and I am getting more than anxious.  Not to mention that our little baby boy should be joining us sometime between now and the end of the year.  Life is going to get crazy soon!!!!

Thanksgiving in Walla Walla

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Walla Walla this year.  I brought the stuff to make these cute little turkeys but my sister Rachel did most of the work.

Every year we usually participate in the city Turkey Trot, wherever we are at.  However, this year since I am  suppose to be taking it pretty easy, I totally spaced enrolling us for a trot!!  Thankfully my parents came up with the idea of having our own family trot at one of the places my parents like to do their walking together.  Then they gave us DQ bucks for every lap we completed around the cemetery.  I got two bucks for every lap since I have a body inside of me.  Then we went to DQ a few nights like to cash in.  I thought it was a great idea!!

This year my dad made a big deal about making the turkey look like one "from the movies."  My sister Rachel said she wanted one like that and so my dad made it happen.  Here he is about to set the turkey on the table.

During the holiday we got to go see my brother Doug on the Walla Walla High School JV basketball team during one of his scrimmages.  I really enjoy watching my siblings play sports.

Grateful.

These are the party favors from the shower.  They are adorable.

This morning as I am going through all of my pictures from the family baby shower last weekend I feel tremendously blessed.  There are so many people that have reached out to Brandon and I during this special time and I am so grateful.  Here are just a handful of pictures from the shower.  This was such a fun day for me, thanks to many family members and friends that made the trip to come.  I will always remember this event.

Family Baby Shower!

I just LOVE this girl!!

Her and her sisters threw me this amazing family baby shower last weekend and I couldn't have been more spoiled.  They did an above and beyond job.  Check out what they did for the food table!

Fun Weekend Get-Away

This last weekend was fabulous.  Brandon had Friday off and we were treated to two nights at one of the nicer hotels we have ever stayed in.  We arrived at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, WA on Thursday night and the next morning, headed to breakfast at the Old European Restaurant Friday morning.

Then we went to the Spokane temple and spent a couple of hours there.

We visited the mall and then made our way to the Spokane Chiefs hockey game that night.

We left the Davenport Hotel on Saturday morning and headed to Walla Walla with some of our friends here in Tri-Cities.

In Walla Walla, we ate dinner at a place called the Backstage Bistro.

Then we headed out to enjoy the musical called White Christmas playing at the Little Theatre.  The production did not start until 8:00pm.  So we were all pretty worn out that night.  We came home Sunday morning so we could get back for church.  It was fun to be able to spend some time together and get away before our little one comes next month.

Happy Halloween!

Last night we went to our ward chili dinner and trunk-or-treat.  It was short and sweet and we had a good time.
