Sporadic Buys

So last night Brandon and I went to the store to buy a few things. However, instead of coming out with what we intended to purchase, we came out with new pillows!! We were walking down the aisle of bedding and I just felt like getting out a few pillows and feeling them. Then I realized how crappy our pillows were and I realized that it is just worth it to have a really good pillow since we actually do spend a lot of our lives on them!! The ones we got are Simmons Beautyrest ones and I LOVE them! I would definitely recommend a good pillow to anyone interested in something to make your life better!

VaLeNtInE ToEs!

So I wanted to show off my cute little Valentine's Day toes but I could not get a very good picture of them and the second picture does not want to turn the right way. Oh well. You get the point! They are super cute (thanks to my friend Lara!).

Thank Goodness for the Beautiful Things!

January is usually a tough month for many people. I think part of it is usually the weather and going back to school and real life again after a long break. It seems like everyone is just a little more down and gloomy at times. This month has been very trying for Brandon and I as we have faced many difficulties together. However, as I have been faced with adversity, I have also been very grateful for the short little moments of joy I have experienced. The other day as we came home (and I was very discouraged that day), Brandon pulled out a red rose for me. It took me two days to actually get it in a vase (sad, I know) because I was not feeling well at all those few days but it is still beautiful and I am thankful for all that Brandon has done to help me get through these past few weeks.

Bowling with Friends

This is definitely not the greatest picture of us but I have done a horrible job of taking pictures these last few weeks so I guess this is what I get!

Last week we went bowling with some of our friends and it was super fun! We had not been for a long time and it was good to get out and play again!

Unpacking

So we are NOT moving now. We found out today that we do not get to move after all. I would try to explain the situation but the jist of it all is that we do not qualify for the apartments and we will start unpacking our house and setting things up again in the place we have always been here soon. Sad day!

JD/MBA Here We Come!

Some exciting news came in the mail just last week. Brandon got his acceptance letter for the Master's in Business program at WSU. So he will be doing the joint law/MBA degree. That means three more years of school for him after this semester. *sigh*

Rowley Basketball

Yesterday while we were in Walla Walla for my little sister's wedding reception, I caught a few pictures of my brothers, husband, and new brother-in-law playing some basketball. It is really fun for me to watch my brothers have fun with their brother-in-laws.

Moving.... Maybe Not!!!

So I have been really horrible about posting and commenting lately... mostly because it has been a really hard two weeks. Last week I was definitely sick with the flu. This week I found out that while I had the flu, I still may have some other health problems. So I have been to doctors this week and giving my blood for testing way too much! I really hate getting my blood taken- more than anything!! I cry every time and I have to lie down or else I pass out. So it has been a rough go. Then, on top of all this, it is the first week of classes and that is the busiest time for me at work because of all of the demands from the students and faculty. Finally, we found out we could move into a new apartment here in Moscow in the Oakridge complex next to a lot of our friends so we got pretty excited. They assured us that it would not cost us more than we are paying now for our place and since it is closer to friends we said sure! It is a townhome and we really like it.. BUT yesterday when I was once again getting my blood drawn, the owner of the apartment called me and told me that it may be a no go. So here we were with all of our stuff packed and ready to be moved... Uhaul lined up and everything and we had to cancel the Uhaul and our house it still all packed up and just sitting there. We are in Walla Walla right now for my sister's reception tonight but we will go back to Moscow on Monday and we will not know if we will be able to move into the new apartment for sure until the owner calls me sometime on Monday. So we are kind of just waiting. What a hard week it has been! I am glad that next week is a new week! I know it will be better for sure!

Brandon and his Football

Brandon LOVES watching football. So yesterday I was trying to get a few shots of him watching a few games. I think he is pretty cute when he watches them because he gets so focused that his head clearly starts moving in the direction that the ball is going. It is pretty funny.

Bananas, bananas, and more bananas

It was a long week of being sick for me last week. So I did not do a whole lot besides work and sleep. I was terribly exhausted and still have a slight headache from it all. The good news is I am getting better for sure. I think I already mentioned we got a dehydrator from my parents for Christmas. So last week Brandon bought a bunch of bananas and dried them for me. I didn't realize how much work it was until he told me he had to wake up in the middle of the night a few times to flip them and turn the dehydrator off. But I sure have enjoyed munching on the dried bananas!

One of These Days...

This is a project I have been putting off for "one of these days." The materials have sat in my back room for awhile now. Today with the help of my mom, I was able to sew this small scripture bag out of a placemat. I got the idea from a girl I did not even know but sat next to one day. I think it is a way cute (and inexpensive) idea!

Beeeeeeeeef Jerky

So here's the end product and it is... DELICIOUS! Thank you Brandon and thank you family for the gear.

One of the things we got from my parents this year was a dehydrator and we are so excited! We also got a jerky gun from Brandon's brother David (I think this was seriously one of the major highlights of Brandon's Christmas.. getting the jerky gun, that is). So Brandon brought some deer meat to my parents' place for this week. Tonight he got out the gun and went to town... So I am hoping for some tasty jerky in the morning... (FYI- the little guy in the blue jersey to the right of Brandon is one of my little brothers. His name is Stewart... Brandon's shadow, I think)

One Long Week

It has been a super long week... Sunday was my brother Kyle's mission farewell. He is serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So Sunday we had lots of family and friends over. Then Monday we all spent the day in the car driving to Utah for my sister Sharon's wedding. Sharon got married to Gary Lind from Alpine, UT on Tuesday. That morning we went to the wedding breakfast, the wedding, and a reception all in one day. Brandon and I went to our friends' place that evening and played some games with them. Then Wednesday morning we dropped my brother Kyle off at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT and then spent the rest of the day driving back to Washington. The roads were pretty good for us until we reached Baker City, OR. We drove through snow and ice from Baker to about the top of cabbage hill. So today we just spent most of the day relaxing and trying to wind down from all of the stress of what has gone on these past few days. It has really been emotionally exhausting! I am glad to be done with all of it.. and moving on to a new year!
