Our Picnic at the Park

This afternoon, Brandon and I ventured on over to Kiwanis Park. It was such a beautiful day and we couldn't help but spend most of it outdoors.

This park has a lake in the middle of it and there are LOTS of turtles like this one in the picture just hanging out in the lake. We fed them our bread because the ducks wouldn't eat it... haha!

There's our bread again. Even the big goldfish ate it! That is the other cool thing about this lake at this park is that it is stocked with large goldfish and you can see their orange/white/black bodies swimming all over (even through the filthy water). I have never seen so many in a lake before so this was really fascinating to me.

And here is our lovely picnic setup before we dove in to our lunch. There are a few really big trees next to the lake that provide good shade. What an ideal location!!

And here is our lovely picnic basket... I love how it is like the old fashioned type with the two sides that can be lifted up.

Brandon is giving a really weird/silly look in this picture... I think he was mocking the fact that I wanted a cute picnic picture of us.

Finally, here is me. I cannot take the credit for this picnic as Brandon prepared our meal. However, I did make us go for a half hour run and it felt GREAT!! It was super hot but it once again reaffirmed how much I love to run outdoors. Luckily I have a husband that puts up with my desires to have him run beside me every once in awhile. I think I look fat in this picture. Maybe it is because we hadn't went on our run yet....

I love that picnic basket you guys have. Brandon's hair is really short.
How's work for him? Is it any more exciting?
Is this park in moscow? I'd love to show Masaru and Yuki the turtles and feed the ducks and fish bread. They'd love it.

My parent's house is right next to Hordemann's Pond. We loved playing there as kids. Weston loves feeding the ducks. They stock it every year with goldfish for the fishing derby. We have yet to go to the derby but apparently they give little fishing poles to the kids.

where where WHERE did you get your picnic basket? I am on a mad hunt for a cute one and all the ones I find are like $50. I like baskets, but I'm on a budget!
